1. Product Overview

1.1 Device Introduction

CNDLive Manager Max is a powerful hardware appliance for device and stream management, designed to provide efficient direct decoding, centralized management, and streaming services.

Key Features:

Direct Decoding Output: Supports outputting video from added devices or streams directly via the local HDMI and SDI interfaces to monitors, eliminating the need for external decoders and reducing latency.
LCD Screen: A built-in front LCD screen provides status updates, stream information, and system settings, allowing for convenient local maintenance.
Streaming Matrix: Supports CNDLive encoders and custom IP streams as inputs. It allows routing to unlimited destinations (Decoders, YouTube, vMix, etc.) using protocols like SRT, RTMP/RTMPS, HLS, NDI|HX, UDP, and RTSP.
Centralized Management: A unified platform to remotely configure devices, perform batch firmware upgrades, and preview all video feeds.
Link Aggregation (Bonding): When devices with multiple network connections connect to the Manager Max, the system uses proprietary algorithms to load-balance traffic, optimizing stability and efficiency.

⚠️ Warning: Firewall & Port Requirements

To ensure the platform functions correctly, you must configure your network firewall or security group to allow the following traffic:

TCP 80 / 8080: Web Service (Dashboard Access - Check System Settings)

UDP 50000: Device Connection (Registration & Heartbeat)

UDP 40000-40050: Voice Intercom (Audio Data)

Custom Ports: You must manually open any specific ports you configure for Stream Matrix input/output tasks.

2. Installation & Connection

2.1 Unboxing

Ensure the packaging is intact and all accessories listed in the packing list are present.

2.2 Power Connection

Connect the provided power cable to the C14 Power Interface (8) and plug it into a power outlet.

Note: If using PoE, connect a PoE-enabled network cable to LAN 1 (10).

2.3 Video Output Connection

Use an HDMI or SDI cable to connect the device’s Output Port (9 or 12) to your monitor or display screen.

2.4 Network Connection

Connect an Ethernet cable to LAN 1 or LAN 2.

Requirement: For the first startup, your network must have a DHCP Server to assign an IP address automatically. You can later set a static IP via the web interface.

3. LCD Screen Operations

3.1 System Status (Home Screen)

After booting, the LCD displays the dashboard:

CPU/RAM: Current resource usage %.
LAN 1/2: Real-time upload/download speeds.
Version: Current firmware version.

Navigation: Use Up/Down to scroll, Confirm (Square button) to enter the menu.

Press Confirm on the Home Screen to enter System Settings.

Reset: Factory reset (clears all data). Shortcut: Hold Up + Down for 8 seconds.
Reboot: Restart the device (approx. 30 seconds).
Update: Update firmware from a USB drive (file must be in the root directory).

3.3 Network Settings (LAN 1 / LAN 2)

View the current IP address, Gateway, Mask, and DNS.

Mode Switching: Press Confirm to switch between DHCP (Auto) and Manual (Static IP) modes directly on the screen.

3.4 Output Status

View the current signal resolution and frame rate for HDMI and SDI outputs.

Note: If no output is configured via the Web UI, it will display “No Signal”.

4. Web Management

Get IP: Look at the LCD screen to find the IP address (e.g., 192.168.0.66).
Browser: Open Chrome/Safari and enter http://<Device_IP>.
Credentials:
- User: admin
- Pass: admin

4.2 Dashboard Overview

Device Management: Add, config, and group encoders/decoders.
Streaming Matrix: Route inputs to outputs.
Intercom: Voice communication.
Network: Configure LAN IPs and SNMP.
System: Firmware update, Factory Reset, Time sync.
Logs: View system operation logs.

5. Device Management

5.1 Adding Devices

Go to Device Management > Device Folder.
Click Add Device.
Enter the device’s Serial Number (SN).
Important: On the remote device’s own web page, go to “Settings > Management Platform” and enter the IP Address of this Manager Max box.

5.2 Device Configuration

Click the Gear Icon on any device card to open the details panel.

C6/X1 (Encoders): Configure Main/Sub streams (Resolution, Bitrate, GOP), setup Bonding (Link Aggregation), and view real-time preview.
D1 (Decoder): Manage decoding sources and set HDMI/SDI output resolution.
A1 (NDI Codec): Switch between Encoder/Decoder modes and configure NDI parameters.
NDI Go (NDI Decoder): real-time preview, preset shortcuts, and comprehensive configuration options for 4K HDMI output, and device information.

5.3 Firmware Upgrade

Go to Settings (Top Right) > Firmware Management.
Upload the .bin file for the specific device model.
Back in Device Management, right-click a device and select Upgrade (or select multiple for batch upgrade).

6. Streaming Matrix

This feature allows you to route any input to any output (including protocol conversion).

6.1 Creating a Task

Create a Project Folder.
Click + to create a Server Node.
Delay: Set the buffer (Default 1000ms).

6.2 Adding Inputs (Source)

Click the Left Side (+) of the Node.

Device: Select a connected C6/X1/etc.
Protocol: Pull a stream via RTSP/SRT/RTMP/UDP/NDI|HX.

Note: 1 Node = 1 Input Source.

6.3 Adding Outputs (Destination)

Click the Right Side (+) of the Node.

Protocols: Push to SRT, UDP, HLS, RTSP, RTMP.
Physical Output: Select HDMI or SDI to decode the video directly out of the Manager Max hardware.
YouTube: Authorize via API to push directly.

Limit: Max 16 outputs per node.

💡 Tip: Custom Ports

If you assign a specific port for a matrix output (e.g., SRT on port 9000), remember to manually open that port in your network firewall.

7. Voice Intercom

Real-time communication between the Manager Max web interface and connected devices.

Hardware: Connect a USB Headset to the Manager Max or the remote device (C6/X1).
Web: Click the Intercom (Headset) icon.
Operation: Add devices to the group and toggle Start.

Note: Volume/Mute controls are Personal Mix controls. Muting a user only prevents you from hearing them; others in the group can still hear them.

8. System Settings

8.1 Network & SNMP

LAN 1/2: Configure Static IPs or DHCP via the web interface.
SNMP: Enable for remote monitoring. (Default port: 161, Community: public).

Security Warning: Always change the default community string and restrict access via firewall if exposing to public networks.

8.2 Platform Settings

Change service ports if needed:

HTTP Port: Default 80 (Web access).
Server Port: Default 50000 (Device connection).
Audio Ports: Default 40000-40050.
IPv6: Enable if required.

8.3 User Management

Admin: Can manage all settings and create users.
Users: Restricted permissions (assigned specific folders by Admin).

9. FAQ

Q: I cannot find the device IP address to log in.

A: Look at the physical LCD screen on the front of the Manager Max unit. Use the arrow keys to navigate to the LAN 1 or LAN 2 menu. The IP address will be displayed there.

Q: How do I output a stream to a physical monitor?

A: 1. Connect your monitor to the HDMI or SDI port on the back of the Manager Max. 2. Go to the Streaming Matrix section in the web UI. 3. Create a node with your desired input. 4. On the Output side, select HDMI or SDI.

Q: My remote device is online but shows “Offline” in Manager Max.

A: 1. Ensure the remote device has the correct Manager Max IP Address entered in its local settings. 2. Check if the Server Port (Default 50000) is blocked by a firewall between the device and the Manager Max.

Q: Can I reset the password if I forget it?

A: You can reset the device to factory settings using the physical buttons.

Ensure the device is powered on.
Hold the Up and Down buttons simultaneously for 8 seconds.
The device will reset (User/Pass becomes admin/admin). Warning: This erases all configurations.

Q: How many devices can I manage?

A: We recommend managing up to 40 devices to ensure optimal performance and UI responsiveness.

Q: The firmware update failed via USB. Why?

A 1. Ensure the file is in the root directory of the USB drive. 2. Ensure the file format is correct (.bin). 3. Do not power off the device during the update.
