Understanding a remote production workflow means following the signal from the camera lens to the viewer — and back.

1. Capture & Encode (Field)

At the venue, each camera connects to a C6 4K HDMI/SDI Video Encoder (dual 4K HDMI + 3G-SDI) or an A1 4K HDMI NDI Converter. The C6 compresses and wraps the feed in NDI|HX2/3, SRT, or RTMP; the A1 provides bi-directional NDI High Bandwidth / NDI|HX2/3 at 4Kp60.

Where venue internet is weak, the X1 SDI/HDMI 4G Bonding Encoder aggregates up to 7 networks (cellular + Wi-Fi + Ethernet) into one resilient tunnel. H.265/HEVC keeps bitrate low while preserving quality.

3. Central Hub — Manager MAX

4. Production & Distribution

Step-by-Step Deployment

Below is a quick-reference walkthrough for standing up a 3-camera REMI workflow.

Step 1: Prepare the Hub

Deploy CNDLive Manager MAX in your production data center. Open the Stream Matrix web UI and confirm the SRT listener port (default 9000) is reachable.

Step 2: Register Field Encoders

On each C6 / X1, point the destination at your Manager MAX SRT listener:

Then register the device in CNDLive Manager (Free) for centralized health monitoring and remote configuration.

Tip: Use a unique streamid per camera (e.g. camera1, camera2, camera3) so the hub can distinguish feeds.

Step 3: Build the Stream Matrix

In Manager MAX, map each incoming feed to an NDI source:

  • camera1 (SRT) → NDI source CAM1
  • camera2 (NDI|HX) → NDI source CAM2
  • camera3 (X1 bonded) → NDI source CAM3

Route CAM1–CAM3 into your switcher input bus.

Step 4: Add Return Video

Send program return to the field via NDI Go: Manager MAX → NDI Go (PoE) → HDMI monitor + intercom headset at the venue. This gives your on-site crew live tally and comms.

Step 5: Distribute

From the switcher, push the final program to RTMP platforms (YouTube / Facebook) and/or decode locally with the D1 for on-site LED walls and overflow rooms.
